I am currently reading Technomancer: Unspeakable Things by: B.V Larson. I am currently about 50% of the way through the book. What's good about this book is that it contains a lot of mystery within it, and it keeps you guessing as to what's going to happen. There is a great deal of suspense and confusion that just makes you want to turn the page. However, there are some things about this book that make it not so great. One of these things is that sometimes, the plot isn't entirely sure where it wants to go. It's very fickle in that it jumps around to a lot of different characters and moves on to the next thing with little answer to the questions there are. So that brings up another thing; halfway through the book, there are so many questions, on only half answers. I know that I haven't reached the end, but there is so much of the story to wrap up, that I'm afraid there are going to be loose ends. So, I would recommend this book for those who are patient and willing to read to the end because, while the beginning pulls the reader in, the plot becomes confusing to a point where you get lost and don't know what's happening.
This sounds like a difficult read! I like mystery books myself but sometimes too many characters makes the plot very confusing. Do you think it would be better if some of the minor characters were removed?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I feel like if some of the minor characters were removed, it would definitely be less confusing.
DeleteIs this a murder mystery? Because I love those!! I think I might read it if i get the time.
ReplyDeleteSort of... There are mysterious murders that occur, but it isn't necessarily the basis of the story
DeleteThis sounds like a really interesting book... but also really confusing. It sounds like a book I would enjoy as long as everything gets wrapped up and doesn't leave me with too many questions.
ReplyDeleteI like your review--you didn't spoil the plot, but you provided us with information about your challenges. I think this sounds interesting, but it may be confusing if the questions aren't answered soon throughout the book.
